200 questions challenge day 06

Hi everyone! We are almost I week into the 200 questions blog challenge. I am having a lot of fun with this! Quick disclaimer. Some of the questions may not have as in depth answers and or any pictures and that is because either its too complicated to add a picture or the question is just so short. That is just an FYI. so lets get into it!

Day 06: What fictional place would you most like to go?

I was so excited when I saw this question and many of you would probably think I would choose either Winter River, Connecticut (from beetlejuice) or a book world like Hogwarts. Actually I would like to go to…………………………………………

HALLOWEENTOWN! How freakin cool would it be to go and visit a town dominated by Halloween with a creepy cast of characters to greet you while you’re there. that would be the dream!

200 question challenge day 05

Hi everyone! Todays question wont be as exciting as the last few day because the question doesnt have as in depth of an answer.

Day 05: How often do you play sports?

in short not ever! I used to kickbox a few years back and did Thai Kwon Do when i was a kid but im not inro organized group activities. I prefer to go for a run or do yoga stretches (not for mental clarity or stress) but to maintain flexability.

What sports do you play?

200 questions challenge day 4

Hi friends! Hope all of you are well today. Its raining again here 😦 I’m over the rain!! So today we are on day 4 and it is one that makes me want to curl up with a good book and relax, which is what I wish I could do instead of working on math homework!!!

Day 4: What does your perfect room look like?

42b23f23f3ce7dbdeb043b90e9913da0Oh.My.GOSH!!!!! This is literally my dream bedroom. I love the elements of really dark colors and creamy neutrals. I love that the bedding is super fluffy and warm looking. I love that black is a key color. I don’t think I would ever leave my bed if this was my room!!!

What is one element you have to have in your room? For me that’s a T.V and DVD player so that when my husband works overnight I can curl up with a great movie!

200 questions challenge

Hi readers! We are now on day 3 of this challenge!! I am having so much fun with this and hope you enjoy it too!

Day 03: what is a hobby you would like to pick up if money wasnt and issue?

Sorry for the screenshot, it wouldnt save to my phone! So for me it would be quilting. I have made a few Log Cabin style quilts that my Aunt Nana taught me how to sew but to make something like this would be the dream!! I adore people who can sew like this. Many advanced quilters I know look at this and say “piece of cake”. When i look at this I think “dear god how does this work”!?! Not only is quilting beyond my comprehension it is also quite costly. The first quilt i made was a lap quilt (not even the standard size for a baby quilt) and it cost me roughly $75!!!

Is there a craft you wish you coukd do if money wasnt a problem?!?

200 questions challenge day 2

Hi friends! I hope all of you are doing well. It is GORGEOUS in California today. My puppy Kevin is loving sitting on the porch in the sun for long periods of time. Today we are on the 2nd day of the 200 question challenge so lets get into it!

Day 2: Favorite article of clothing you own/owned…dmThis is Miami Dolphins Quarterback Dan Marino’s Jersey. Marino was a first round pick of the Dolphins in the 1983 NFL draft and played for 17 seasons! in 1999 he was named number 27 of the 100 greatest football players of all time! The fist time I ever found out who Marino was when I was about 4 or 5 and my dad rented Ace Ventura: Pet Detective for me and the plot of the movie was ace finding the dolphins mascot Snowflake. Marino makes a small appearance in the film and I thought that dolphins were cool so maybe i should like that team (since my mama is a die hard Green Bay Packers Fan and my dad is a die hard Seattle Seahawks fan). They were “my team”(as much as they could be for a little girl) from then on! It wasn’t until I met a friend who loved them more than I did. He knew all about them, their stats, current and past players etc. He had a couple of jerseys and he let me borrow his Marino jersey that was Identical to this one, for years. I LOVED that frickin jersey. I wish I still had it. I do however plan on getting my own someday!

Do you own any of your favorite spots team memorabilia???

200 questions challenge Day 1

If you didn’t have to sleep what would you do with your extra time?

This is a quick snapshot from my Instagram. Its titled “Just a girl and her books”

This is an easy question! I would read. I feel like throughout my day I don’t get enough time to sit with my book and just read. Between taking care of my boys (Kyle and Kevin the bulldog) school, keeping up on housework and laundry, and many other various things by the time I have time to read I am dozing off in bed. I love to read so much and it breaks my heart that finding time is so hard. However I joined this awesome book club Buxom Book Beauties and we read 2 books per month. I am reading one of the 2 and this month it is…

Caraval.pngI am on chapter 3 as of right now and I am unsure of how I feel about it, but having a specific amount of time to read a book really gets me pumped so I am looking forward to this book!

See all of you tomorrow for day 2

She happened to pin this awesome idea that I am making into a challenge. Starting today I will be working on…

200 questions to get to know someone!!

some of the questions will be more in depth than others so just bear with me and I will start a new post for question 1~

Tips for blogging

Hello everyone. I have been still so busy. I feel like I am busier not working a full time job with school and life than I am now with no job, full time school and life. OMG anyway I have been doing live feeds via Instagram which I am loving! I did one this afternoon and one of the questions I was asked was tips for blogging. So lets get into it and you will learn some neat stuff!

  1. Be Brutally Honest. By this I mean be honest with yourself, be hones in you posts, just be honest. There is no shame in writing what you feel. The beauty of your blog is its your blog! Say what you feel and feel what you say.
  2. Don’t make it a chore. I have taken a huge break from this blog and while I have been wanting to write, I know that I cant force myself to. If its a chore, you don’t love it. Blogging for me is a way of making my voice heard, my stories shared and my creativity sparked.
  3. write what you love!! I cannot stress that enough. I love writing about my amazing relationship, my baby dog, and growing up with my family. I love sharing my opinions on books and movies. I love being goofy and making people laugh. So that is my goal. I feel its important to write about what you love and know a lot about. In my case that is MOVIES! or Autism, Tim Burton, Books etc. Its a fun way of expression!
  4. Don’t write about something you don’t understand. I am all for research and learning however it really bothers me when someone writes something that has very one sided or wrong info. I am not one to comment on posts like that because its their voice and journey and I also do my best to practice positivity so why input negatively right??? But make sure you know your subject!!
  5. and finally HAVE FUN!!!!!!!! This is most important. Its like I said before, if its a chore then its not for you. Why would you do something you hate regularly right?  I love reading content and I especially love reading creative and different content so I look forward to following all of you and I hope these tips give you  that spark you want and need!

Be sure to follow my co-book blog with my bff Ash, check us out at elsewherebookreviews.blogspot.com. we are currently working on new content and meeting up next week to come up with new ideas!!!

2016 Recap

Hi friends, It has been awhile since I have posted and for that I am sorry. Life has been busy, busy, busy! I hope all of you had a FABULOUS holiday. I sure did and I cannot wait to use my Christmas money to go shopping! I wanted to do a post summing up this last year for me as we only have 4 days left in 2016.

Many people hate this year and I will say there have been some very hard times but there has also been so much amazingness too! Hollywood lost a lot of greats sadly. I lost some people in my life. My anxiety was at an all time through the summer. This year I also felt very lonely. I felt even more isolated than I did the first year of our new life. I decided to change all of this and my way of thinking and I cannot tell you how much my heart and mind have changed!

Here are some of the things that are my yearly highlights

I have been an auntie to 2 kids for 7 years now. Desirae and Robert are 2 of the biggest loves of both mine and Kyle’s life. In January 2016 we were blessed with our newest Nephew Oliver! We were also asked to be the kids Godparents. You can imagine my elation when I was told I was these amazing kiddos Godmother. What an Honor right?!?

Kyle and I decided that as of January 2017 we would begin trying to start a family. While I am still very nervous, knowing I have Kyle by my side is what makes me feel like I can do this parent thing. Thankfully too all of my family is in VERY close proximity to me so I know that I will have support there. I also tell people that my babies will be so blessed because most couples have a mom and dad to be grandparents but I have 2 sets of parents. My babies will have Nana and Papa (my mom and step-dad) Mimi and Grandpa (kyles mom and dad) and Grandpa and Grandma( my dad and step mom). How lucky are they?!?

We got a puppy! Kevin is a half English bulldog and half American Bulldog. He is sweet, sassy, a big love and has the sweetest face in all the land! He is now 4 months old and sitting at my feet snoring as I write this! He loves bananas, water bottles and playing with his friend Max!

We moved! While we still live in a county I am not particularly fond of we moved into a bigger house, in a drastically nicer area and we are able to have Kevin. I love my new house. I have a huge living room and bedroom and my own library!!!!! I actually have a library!!!!!

I am finishing up my last semester at Sierra College and beginning at University of Phoenix in the summer!!! I have only a couple classes to take for my AA degree and I will be able to finish that at UOP then I will begin my Bachelors in English!

I started an Etsy shop!!! As many of you have read, I have been embroidering since I was about 4 or 5. My step-dad has told me time and again that “if you’re good at something, never do it for free” so I bit the bullet and opened my shop. I have had one sale so far and it was a custom order not through my shop, but hey its a start!

Kyle and I hit our 10 year mark! I have been told repeatedly this year that he and I are “the power couple”! I am now believing it. Many people believe that highschool love amounts to nothing and sometimes it doesn’t but in my case I am 10.5 years strong and ready to kick more ass with him by my side!

As this year comes to a close I am feeling sick (I have a chest cold) LOL, but for real I am feeling full, loved and excited. I know that each year will bring challenges but I have come to find that life is like a riverbed and I am a rock. I can either try and push past it or let it wash over me. I chose to let it wash over me. I chose happiness. I chose Positivity. I chose to practice compassion and work on my life. I chose to not let the small stuff effect me. I am also choosing to be a bit more selfish this next year and do things that better me but also make me happy. I am not going to focus on things that don’t effect me. I plan to focus on my life, my marriage and my family.

Little Things I want to do

Hi everyone! I was really inspired to write tonight. I have a friend, who I used to work with, who just started her own blog and I am loving it! Reading the two posts she has really got me excited. With the upcoming election I felt like I wanted to take this time to write about some things I want to accomplish in the upcoming year that are in no way heavy or overly emotional. So here is my next 365 goal sheet!

  1. Keep working on this blog! I have loved sharing my life, my loves and bearing my soul to all of you. I am working on ideas for more content and I am hoping to do some Vlogs as well!!!
  2. Read, Read, Read. My goal for 2016 was to read AT LEAST 50 books and I have only read 17, I think! My problem being that I have been keeping my home, chores and my business ahead of me time. So next year I want to read at least 25 books and here are some of the titles I am stoked to start!

I have read the first book Dark Lover in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R Ward. Recommended to me by a gorgeous woman who I have never met in person. Miss Meg you inspire me to read daily!  I am on book 13 of The Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole and if you follow my co-book blog with my  best friend Ashley, you saw my whole post about this series! I am currently reading book 2 The Darkest Kiss in the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter and it is knocking book 1 out of the park!!! There are many more books I have and need to read but it seems like around this time of year I get super inspired to pull out my supernatural smut collections!

3.Build and sell more on my Etsy! I recently started my own Etsy shop and I am LOVING getting back into my craft. I showcased the shop on a previous post but I will share some of my work as of late 🙂

4. Finish my AA degree. I have 2 maybe 3 more classes to take and Oh.My.Gosh I am ready to wrap up! I have been in school forever working to get my AA degree and I still have a lot of school left for the Masters degree I want. I have been thinking about a program to take to at least give me something to fall back on. I am thinking about a certification in Interior Decorating. I love decorating. I have a great eye for color and I love making peoples vision take shape. Also its a quick program and would be something I could have on the back burner (unless my Etsy takes off, then I will focus on that )

Well I think that is enough for now. I will be posting more and more the remainder of the year! See you soon
