1 year Anniversary

Hi friends! I just hit my 1 year mark for this blog and this has been so much fun. I know that I don’t post as much as I used to but I am now busier than I was before. I have written so many posts that have made me so happy, posts that have been harder to write. It has all been a really organic experience and I have enjoyed every post I have written.

So whats next…

well.. I am sending out my transcripts to continue my education but I am also looking into a certification in personal training! As many of you know, I have been on a journey to get and maintain healthy habits and going to the gym has only added extra drive to get in even better shape and continue my journey. Thankfully I have a friend who is going to be helping me with this endeavor. This does not mean that I am not continuing school this is just another avenue while I continue my eduation. I am in contact with 2 schools regarding my Bachelors degree so I am waiting to hear back from one of them to help me decide where I choose to go.

I am taking care of my bulldog puppy. almost 9 months old and 80 pounds!!!! He is sassy and fully of energy and I love him

Newest Project

Hey everyone. I mentioned before that I was planning to start an Etsy and I am beyond excited. I am over halfway completed in a sampler for my first listing!!! Before I started this project I made up something I’m pretty proud of and here it is…

I made this for a very special friend. It is something that really tested my ability but also was so much fun to make. I am so satisfied with this piece. In total it took me about 24 hours give or take. The design was provided by urbanthreads.com

I cannot wait to share more with you and to share my Etsy as well!!

Hey everyone. I literally just finished (about an hour ago) a pillowcase for a girl who I can Beazus.

Ashley is someone I have interviewed on this blog and if you read it you already know a little about her. What you do not know is that the girl LOVES jellyfish. She has a tiny Jellyfish tattoo on the top of her ankle and I have promised to make her something jellyfish for years now. so here it is, her final piece, being sent out tomorrow!

In total with tracing, and stitching this probably took me 24 hours. Yesterday and Today were my most productive days and i think I averaged 6 hours per day to finish it. When I picked it up again I only had the cap of the jelly done. I used good ol’ DMC floss, and gave it an ombre’ effect 🙂

My good and equally as talented friend is wanting me to start and Etsy and I want to do it…It was my plan when I got married to make movie money. After completing this it makes me want my own Etsy even more!

Check back for more creations and see if I do start an Etsy!

Hey friends. It is currently 8:04 am and while my husband naps before we have our trip to the city I wanted to get in a quick post! I love quilting and my love for it has only gotten more fond since I do not work at the craft store anymore. I have made 3 quilts total, 2 lap and one full size. My mama taught me to sew when I was 8 or 9. After learning embroidery so young I was able to pick up hand sewing no problem and I prefer to hand sew. When I was 20 I wanted to make a special Halloween quilt for my sister Jamie. My Aunt-Nana taught me how to use a sewing machine and how to organize my fabric in preparation to sew. She also taught me how to rip my strips of fabric for a log cabin style quilt. Apparently ripping your fabric is blasphemous but its the only way I know. I wanted to share with you some pictures of quilts I saved on Pinterest in the hopes that I get inspired to sew again or I can inspire you!

This is my next endeavor. It’s a T-shirt quilt. I am a huge T-shirt girl and for the last few years I have been saving shirts in the hops that I can make an amazing quilt. I am extremely critical of my sewing and most times I become frustrated and give up however I am so pumped to make this that I may go buy some of the supplies today while I am out and about! The shirts that will be included in my quilt will be my amazing Beetlejuice shirt that I have worn holes into. My Poison band tee which I also have worn holes in and so many more!

So this is the newest love of my life. I come from a military family, both mama and dad served out country, and I am a little patriot! I would love to make a fabric map of the beautiful country and maybe embroider a heart in California where I was raised!

This is a quilt I found and I am hooked on the color scheme! The Tiffany blue and Red is so beautiful when combined!

The reader in me needs this quilt. Will I ever make it? No probably not but Its one of the most gorgeous quilts I have ever seen. What I would do to add my own spin is embroider on the spines the titles of all my favorite books!

This is pure beauty. The reader, again has fallen in love with this amazingness! I would emphasize my house colors more (Slytherin!!!)

LOVE this! It’s actually a wall hanging but I would enlarge it and make it a quilt!

When I have kids (and hopefully I have at least one girl) I hope that she will love all things mystical and if she is anything like me, Witches and Mermaids will be her favorite! I hope that one day I will be able to look past the complexity of the quilt and dive in fearlessly so that I can make this for my hypothetical daughter.

I used to have this quilt pattern made my Crabapple Hill and It combines two of my favorite things, Embroidery and Halloween! Its called HocuspocusVille and its the COOLEST design I have seen to date!

I hope that these images have inspired you. They sure inspired me and now all I want to do is pin to my quilt board on Pinterest and buy supplies!

Creativity Funk

Hey friends. I was feeling a little blue today as I looked through my embroidery stuff because I have not stitched since before christmas!! I am in the worst creativity dry spell that I have even been in. Part of it I think is because with how often kyle and i travel when I’m home I want to relax. I am very much the kind of girl who wants to see the end result as soon as possible. With embroidery, unless you stitch faster than me you can’t let the end result dim the entire process. I also am on a bit of a reading kick as well so that could be it…

I came across this pillowcase set I did for Jamie and I am completely impressed with myself. That was a hard task to complete.

Then I look at this that I made my mother in law and again I’m like “damn kels nice job!!” But since this is haven’t had a desire to stitch and want to find that creativity I have somewhere.
Give me your thoughts as to what I should do!!! Should I push myself to make something? Should I make something and sell it?.. This girl needs some tips asap!

Tattoos I have and will have!!

Hey readers, so I LOVE tattoos. I love making an appointment. I love the sound of the Tattoo gun and the smell of the antibacterial soap. I love the whole experience! I have 7 of my own but only have pictures of a few of them. I also have a bunch that I want to get done so here is what I have and what I want…

No Regrets Just Love I got this when I was at a lower point in my life. If you read the post about positivity, I got this done right in the middle of that time. I am obsessed with Katy Perry and while I was watching her movie Part of Me and listened to her sing Teenage Dream, I knew I needed to have this message tattooed on me. It’s a great practice that I put into place to this day. Kyle and I both want to live our lives with no regrets, and taking all the bullshit out and just loving our lives!

This is my latest and greatest! Growing up I always loved the big rose tattoo my dad has on his arm and I have always wanted a rose, but let’s be honest everyone has a rose so I decided to make it my own and make it look like it was made from pages of books. I have quotes from To Kill a Mockingbird,  Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,  The Mortal Instruments City of Glass,  James and the Giant Peach and Matilda!  It is the newest love of my life! What I love most about it is that when people see it they always say “That is so you”

Rose tattoo

This one is fairly new too! It’s on my back and looks crooked from how I had to hold up my shirt but this is a very personal one. The quote She dreams in plots and chapters was a quote that was made up about me by a wonderful lady I used to work with. She came into work one day with a bag of handmade treats for me. She said that while she was working on the projects she kept thinking about me and so she coined this quote. I told her one day i would have it tattooed on me for life. She didn’t believe me, until I got it done and her response was “IM PUBLISHED” The creepy cute girl is a version of something I found online and everyone says its me!

I know that this one is hard to read but it says “With brave wings she flies” I got this because my mama, my whole life has told me I was the bravest girl she knew, coming from a U.S Army and National Guard Veteran, A prison guard, a grenade expert, a single mom and a rock of a woman, that means a lot so why not put it in black and white right?

I also have a butterfly and flowers with my sister Rachel’s name. A heart on my lower back that my best friend Raymond did!

Now here are the hopefuls 🙂

I don’t want this particular picture however I told my husband that after we have kids I am getting a Beetlejuice themed tattoo as a reward 🙂 He laughed at my verbage but he always says he doesn’t care what I get as long as I love it!

Photo found via Pinterest, Not my tattoo

My Gypsy obsession has become bad! I want my own gypsy super bad but I want to commemorate Stevie Nicks, the original witchy gypsy. I would love to have it look somewhat like her, with a white-winged dove, a tambourine and big flowers like peonies all done in black and grey except for the flowers! and maybe the quote “She rings like a bell through the night and wouldn’t you love to love her”

Photos found via pinterest!

I found this via Pinterest and I have been wanting a skull. It all goes back to my dad and his skull he has, but my husband has a skull and roses tattoo and I love it. what I love about this piece is that it is very romantic. The framing of the skull and the rosary beads gives it a very feminine quality.

I also found this via pinterest and my best friend of  years Jamie and I are planning on the spellbook of Winifred Sanderson. She is designing it because we want it to have a personal flare to it and I want to add the Black Flame candle to the mix as well.Spellbook.jpg

This will be my next one! Pansy is my favorite flower and they remind me of my mom so I will get one for her, my sister and I in various colors!!!

that’s all for now! Stay tuned for more fun!
