Hey friends. It is currently 8:04 am and while my husband naps before we have our trip to the city I wanted to get in a quick post! I love quilting and my love for it has only gotten more fond since I do not work at the craft store anymore. I have made 3 quilts total, 2 lap and one full size. My mama taught me to sew when I was 8 or 9. After learning embroidery so young I was able to pick up hand sewing no problem and I prefer to hand sew. When I was 20 I wanted to make a special Halloween quilt for my sister Jamie. My Aunt-Nana taught me how to use a sewing machine and how to organize my fabric in preparation to sew. She also taught me how to rip my strips of fabric for a log cabin style quilt. Apparently ripping your fabric is blasphemous but its the only way I know. I wanted to share with you some pictures of quilts I saved on Pinterest in the hopes that I get inspired to sew again or I can inspire you!
This is my next endeavor. It’s a T-shirt quilt. I am a huge T-shirt girl and for the last few years I have been saving shirts in the hops that I can make an amazing quilt. I am extremely critical of my sewing and most times I become frustrated and give up however I am so pumped to make this that I may go buy some of the supplies today while I am out and about! The shirts that will be included in my quilt will be my amazing Beetlejuice shirt that I have worn holes into. My Poison band tee which I also have worn holes in and so many more!
So this is the newest love of my life. I come from a military family, both mama and dad served out country, and I am a little patriot! I would love to make a fabric map of the beautiful country and maybe embroider a heart in California where I was raised!
This is a quilt I found and I am hooked on the color scheme! The Tiffany blue and Red is so beautiful when combined!
The reader in me needs this quilt. Will I ever make it? No probably not but Its one of the most gorgeous quilts I have ever seen. What I would do to add my own spin is embroider on the spines the titles of all my favorite books!
This is pure beauty. The reader, again has fallen in love with this amazingness! I would emphasize my house colors more (Slytherin!!!)
I LOVE this! It’s actually a wall hanging but I would enlarge it and make it a quilt!
When I have kids (and hopefully I have at least one girl) I hope that she will love all things mystical and if she is anything like me, Witches and Mermaids will be her favorite! I hope that one day I will be able to look past the complexity of the quilt and dive in fearlessly so that I can make this for my hypothetical daughter.
I used to have this quilt pattern made my Crabapple Hill and It combines two of my favorite things, Embroidery and Halloween! Its called HocuspocusVille and its the COOLEST design I have seen to date!
I hope that these images have inspired you. They sure inspired me and now all I want to do is pin to my quilt board on Pinterest and buy supplies!
